Case Study: Hand Made Cross Boarded Door

For something slightly different was a trip to the coast of Plymouth during storm Barney! I visited an Edwardian town house property overlooking the harbour. The customer wanted to use our hand built cross boarded style doors as a gate to the property.

We designed and fitted a very large traditional solid English Oak gate adding a small leaded roof to go above the gate to shield off the weather. The new door was a 4 cross boarded door using a lot of hand crafted studs giving the it the old heritage door look.

Cross boarded doors are perfect for listed properties including old parish churches, manor houses, period hotels, old coaching inns, old town halls as well as converted stables and barns and new builds.
