We were asked to replace 3 1970’s style doors on a hill top farm overlooking Halifax.
The period doors we designed are very unique in that they are known as framed ledged doors. This means the front boards are machined out of the same piece of wood making them very substantial in construction. I first came across this type of door on a group of medieval farm buildings in Lincoln.
The front of the doors have cover laths to create a barrier against the weather this is often used on exposed doors.
The customer loved the finished doors and said that the transformation was fantastic.
